Jim Thomson, age 4Jim Thomson is a devoted designer. And much more.

Driven to merge his equal passions for aesthetic creativity and technically enhanced marketing, Jim occupies a unique (and highly valued) juncture of integrated 21st century branding services. He loves bringing clients’ visions to life in a comprehensive way .

At 30 years old, Jim has become a one-stop shop: bridging technology and art… helping businesses and nonprofits with missions from A to Z. He delights in helping people.

Jim is a third-generation artist: his mother a fine-artist (portraiture, especially of animals) and his grandfather a designer of prominent print catalogues & hand-reproduced movie posters. To this inherited talent and interest, Jim adds theoretical and technical mastery learned both through rogue trial-and-error exploration and through formal education at the University of Oregon, where Jim earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, producing many “out-of-the-box” multi-media projects. (See samples.)

In his multi-media design work for organizations such as LivePDX and Oregon Live, Jim has been known as the ‘go-to’ guy for computer questions, creative inspiration, and almost all in-between.

While well-versed in modern software (InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, etc.), Jim is most appreciated for his propensity to offer clients two unusual things: (1) an ability for you, as a client, to have light-hearted fun during the creative and technical implementation of your vision; and (2) an easy workload for you after implementation and over the long-term. Jim prioritizes foresight, using flexible architecture and minimized dependency for you—incorporating efficient planning for years down the road.

Jim lives in theNorthwest Sylvan Highlands neighborhood with his cat, Beatrice. He spends most of his free time going to films, hiking, trying to find watchable television, listening to music, wine tasting, discovering hidden gems of Portland, usually with his partner, Jen and close friends.
